My childhood cat Motley was the kind of calico sometimes called a tortoiseshell. Her face was half black, half cream with orange stripes; her body was mottled in black, brown, orange, and cream.
Ferdy and Sphinx (below) were two of her kittens. Ferdy was a gray tabby with faint orange blotches, which means she was also a calico. Sphinx was half an orange tabby,with orange stripes on his left side.
All of the oranges are too bright, but that's the marker I have.
Otherwise, these are reasonably accurate reproductions.
